Insoluble in water. Slightly soluble in petroleum ether. Soluble in alcohol and chloroform. Solubility in rubber approximately 0.25%

Notes on Uses

Accicure MBTS is a fast curing accelerator giving vulcanisates with ultimate properties closely similar to those of Accicure MBT. The most noticable difference is the much greater scorch resistance of Accicure MBTS. Like Accicure MBT, Accicure MBTS gives extremely good ageing properties; it is practically non-staining and similarly needs the addition of stearic acid to function at its maximum efficiency. In combination with guanidines, thiurams and dithiocarbamates, it gives rapid curing but safe mixtures, In Neoprene, it serves as an antiscorch agent.

Storage and Handling

Stable indefinitely under normal storage conditions.

No special handling precautions are necessary. Normal precautions to avoid contact with skin and eyes should be followed. For eyes, flush with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
